Control Chamber to focus on education sector in 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - The studies conducted by Armenia's Control Chamber have revealed negative results in all state structures apart from the Constitutional Court, according to Control Chamber Chairman Ishkhan Zakaryan.

"Over the last two years, we have fixed large-scale violations and abuses by Ministry of Culture and state property management institutions, and this gives rise serious concerns," he told journalists Friday.

At that, he noted that the General Prosecutor's Office has instituted criminal cases over 21 violations.

According to him, the recent legislative amendments will enable the chamber to directly apply to Prosecutor's office in case of finding wrongdoings.

In addition, Mr. Zakaryan said that the Control Chamber's 2010 activities will focus on education sector.
