Exhibition of great painter Vardges Surenyants opens in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - On November 26, the National Art Gallery of Armenia hosted opening of an exhibition of great Armenian painter, illustrator, theater painter, translator Vardges Surenyants.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the master.

Director of the National Art Gallery for Scientific Studies Hasmik Harutyunyan said that the exhibition features 200 works of the painter from various museums, including History Museum of Armenia, Museum of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Sardarapat Museum and the Hermitage Museum.

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan congratulated all on the occasion of the exhibition opening and stressed that the event is the first one among those to be held as part of Surenyants year.

“Currently, it is of great importance to reconsider the great painter’s heritage and present his works to the world,” concluded Sargsyan.
