Everything in Azerbaijan is pure invention, even the date of Heydar Aliyev’s death

Azerbaijan observed the death day of the national leader and politician in its own way, once again speaking about war against Nagorno Karabakh.

Azerbaijani media decided to observe an important date in Azerbaijan - the day of Heydar Aliyev’s death - in its own way. Let us not once again remind that Aliyev died not in December, but in August of 2003 in Cleveland, USA. Baku is unable to even finally decide on the date of death - whether 10 or 12... The same is true about the date of birth. How disrespectfully should one treat the memory of one’s father as to go to such falsification for the sake of power? However, there is nothing surprising - the son simply followed in his father’s footsteps.

PanARMENIAN.Net - Let us revert to bold Azerbaijani media. Thinking of nothing new, it once again resorted to its favorite method of disorderly conduct. As you remember, in November Azerbaijani, if one may call so, journalists made a similar attempt in Iran, achieving “success” for which they all should be grateful to Iran.

But let us tell everything like it is. Within the framework of Forum of European and Asian Media (FEAM) held in Kyiv on December 7-10, RIA Novosti organized an exhibition of photographs of the CIS countries, Baltic States and Georgia. Armenia was presented at the exhibition by unique works of Armenian photographer Ruben Mangasaryan. Two of his photos were taken in Martakert Region of Nagorno-Karabakh and were undersigned “An abandoned cemetery in a village of Martakert, Armenia, 1993” and “An abandoned village in the Region of Martakert, Armenia, 1993”.

On December 8, the second day of the forum, a few hours after the exhibition opening, representatives of the Armenian delegation participating in the media forum recorded that captions under the photographs were roughly torn down.

In response to indignation of the Armenian delegation, the exhibition organizers promised to restore the inscriptions, replacing the word “Armenia” with the word “Karabakh”. Later on the captions were recovered and Mangasaryan’s collection was fully presented to the public till the end of the exhibition. It should be noted that the developments around the works of the Armenian photographer aroused great interest among the exhibition participants.

Azerbaijani participants of the event were pretty nervous and from time to time made attempts to remove the works of the Armenian photographer from the exhibition. The Azerbaijanis even invited the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine, but all their attempts proved unsuccessful. Despite this, the Azerbaijani media resources, as it is the tradition with them, disseminated false information, claiming that allegedly the photos, around which the dust was raised, had been removed from the exhibition, with the organizers apologizing for the incident. In addition, in reports of the Azerbaijani media Armenian photographer Ruben Mangasaryan was presented as Baghdasaryan.

Organizers of the exhibition assured that information provided by the Azerbaijani media is untrue and photos of Mangasaryan were not removed from the exhibition. The aforementioned photos remained at their places from the beginning till the end of the exhibition. Besides, nobody had offered apologies.

Azerbaijan observed the death day of the national leader and politician in its own way, once again speaking about war against Nagorno Karabakh. However, this topic has long become a catchword, and it interests nobody but the politicians. Evidently, even the latter are sick and tired of it, but since the clan demands… To disobey Ilham Aliyev would be dangerous. Especially notable was Vice-Speaker of the Majlis Ziyafet Askerov.

“Until now Azerbaijan has shown great patience. The world community saw that Azerbaijan is a supporter of peace and talks. But international law allows Azerbaijan to return its territories in any way. It is our right and we reserve that right,” APA reports Askerov as saying.

Further, a representative of the top Aliyev clan, as it is the tradition, criticized international community and the OSCE Minsk Group for not exerting pressure on Armenia. In short, everybody is to blame, as they do not want to give the child the toy he wants.

On December 10, as always, everyone in Azerbaijan commemorated the “blessed memory” of the leader and founder of the state. Probably that is why they banned the book of Turkish diplomat Turgut Er “From Freedom to Tyranny”, which gives the true biography of KGB General Heydar Aliyev, who stood behind establishment of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), the overthrow of the Iranian Shah, and much more. In an interview to the Azerbaijani service of Radio Liberty, Er himself said that the accusations of his alleged ties with the Armenians were ridiculous. “For example, one of the leaders of ARF Dashnaktsutyun said something about the PKK to the correspondent of the newspaper “Ayna”, the correspondent wrote it and I reprinted it in my book. My book also includes large excerpts from Heydar Aliyev’s book “The Courageous Fighter for Communism” published in the 70’s and dedicated to Stepan Shahumyan. Well, why should I have concealed these facts? It is the story of Azeri Turks. Their fear consists in that now they won’t be able to falsify the history. After the publication of this book they won’t be able to falsify the history of Azerbaijan. That is why they are alarmed.”
