Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission to Sit in Yerevan TodayOctober 12, 2005 - 14:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The 7th sitting of the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation will be held in Yerevan today. Russian Minister of Transport and Commission Co-Chair Igor Levitin is arriving in Armenia on two-day visit to participate in the sitting. The agenda includes discussion of the contractual and legal basis of cooperation, prospects of the trade and economic, financial and property affairs, cooperation in fuel and energy complex, transport and communication field as well as the issues referring to Property for Debt treaty. A Protocol will be signed upon completion of the sitting. To note, Secretary of the Security Council, Defense Minister Serge Sargsyan is the Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Commission.Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision. Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion. Partner news |
