Second judicial reform project starts with Ameria and Austrian Hulla & Co.in ArmeniaSeptember 28, 2009 - 13:13 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Within the framework of the Second Judicial Reform Project in Armenia, Hulla & Co. Human Dynamics KG, Austria , in cooperation with Ameria CJSC was commissioned for the implementation of the "Technical Assistance and Consulting Services for the Institutional Support of the Council of Justice and Judicial Department" project. The judicial reforms in Armenia are implemented in two stages. During this initial phase between 2003 and 2008 actions were taken to contribute to the separation of the judicial power from political power, as well as a new institutional framework was introduced. The second stage of the reforms is aimed at providing Armenia's judiciary with the administration, facilities and expanded capacities required to improving efficiency, reliability and the transparency of judicial operations and services. To achieve these goals the "Technical Assistance and Consulting Services for the Institutional Support of the Council of Justice and Judicial Department" 8-month project will come up with comprehensive recommendation package on the use of tools, mechanisms and criteria for the evaluation, promotion and disciplining of judges. Within the framework of the project the Consortium will develop rules and processes for Council of Justice procedures for the professional development of judicial candidates and promotion lists, standard evaluation criteria for judges and evaluation processes. The consultants will also implement transparent rules and procedures that provide due process for the disciplining of judges. Finally, the Consortium will hold training sessions for the key personnel of the Ministry of Justice and Judicial Department to provide practical training on the recommendation package and reports developed during the Project.
