Prices for petrol up 4.1% in Armenia in MarchApril 1, 2010 - 15:15 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - 0.8% increase was recorded in prices for nonfoods in March 2010, as compared with February. According to the National Statistics Service of Armenia, this is basically reasoned by 4.1% and 4.5% increase in petrol and diesel fuel prices respectively. The prices for petrol and diesel fuel increased by 37.6% and 28.3% respectively in March 2010, as compared with the same period of 2009, while they increased by 1.8% and 4.2%, as compared with December 2009. The March rise in prices is reasoned both by international rise in prices for fuel and by drop in the national currency exchange rate to USD, Mushegh Elchyan, Deputy Director of Flesh LLC, one of the largest oil traders in Armenia, told a PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent.
