Armenian government expects over-fulfillment of programs in 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - Given the positive trends in the Armenian economy in the first quarter, as well as positive expectations of the population, the Armenian government expects over-fulfillment of the programs in 2010, Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan told a government meeting on April 1 .

The Prime Minister informed that the International Monetary Fund has approved a report on cooperation with the Government of Armenia, which will help to continue the joint program. "This means that green light has been lit to continue our joint 150 million USD program this year," he said. In this context, the green light is lit for all international programs implemented by the government.

According to Tigran Sargsyan, the Armenian government can also use its Stabilization Fund amounting to over 150 billion AMD, and in case of necessity to direct those resources to solving social and economic problems caused by the crisis.

"Thus, in 2009, our financial and macroeconomic stability has not been shaken. Moreover, we have increased our savings in the Central Bank, and it inspires hope that in 2010 we will be able to over-fulfill of our program, " he stressed.
