Gagik Minasyan: Armenia overcame crisis with minimal losses

PanARMENIAN.Net - The year 2009 was extremely hard not only for Armenia but also for the entire world, an Armenian politician said.

“During the past 15 years the GDP grew by 8.8% annually but last year it dropped by 14.4%,” chairman of the RA NA standing committee on Financial-Credit, Budgetary and Economic Affairs Gagik Minasyan said.

According to him, the government’s anti-crisis measures produced results by the end of 2009 and ensured a 7.2% GDP growth in January-April.

“Armenia overcame the crisis with minimal losses, securing new job opportunities and investments in various sectors of economy,” Minasyan said.
