AMD 21,4 million in penalties paid for violations in gambling sector over January-August 2010September 6, 2010 - 16:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Within January-August 2010, Armenian Ministry of Finance issued 12 licenses for organisation of prize-winning games and 2 for the establishment of gambling houses. 17 licenses for organisation of prize-winning games and 3 for the establishment of gambling houses were found invalid. Activities of 16 organisers of gambling games, 3 gambling houses and 1 lottery were suspended. AMD 21,4 million in penalties was paid for violations in gambling sector over January-August 2010. AMD 420 million was transferred from gambling sector to Armenian state budget as stipulated by law. As of September 1, 2010, 92 licenses for gambling games, 11 gambling house licences and 4 lottery licenses are valid on the territory of Armenia.
