Iran and Armenia to sign free trade agreement

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran and Armenia will sign a free trade agreement (FTA) during Armenian Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsyan’s upcoming visit to Tehran.

During the September 9 meeting held between Armenia’s Ambassador to Tehran Grigor Arakelyan and Iranian Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari, the two sides discussed possible ways to boost bilateral trade cooperation, IRNA reported.

Tehran presented the draft FTA to enhance the two-way transactions to Yerevan in August 2009, Tehran Times reported.

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian will pay a visit to Iran in September, while RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan is expected to arrive there in the second half of October.
