Armenian Ministry of Agriculture hopes to overcome slump through increase in eggs and livestock production

PanARMENIAN.Net - A slump in agriculture can be overcome through increase in production of eggs and livestock, according to Armenian Minister of Agriculture Gerasim Alaverdyan.

57 000 heads of cattle was exported, in accordance with Ministry-provided data.

National Statistical Service of Armenia reported a 17,9% slump in agriculture in January-September 2010. The downfall is explained by unfavourable climatic conditions, which negatively affect the volume of vegetable products.

Among positive results, Alaverdyan specifically noted the volume of grapes purchase grossing 32000 tons.
