Armenia never faced problems with state debt servicing

PanARMENIAN.Net - Vice Chairman of the RA Parliamentary Standing Committee of Economic Affairs, member of Prosperous Armenia parliamentary group Vardan Bostanjyan said that Armenia’s state debt makes $4.3bln, including $3.7bln of external debt.

“We have not faced problems with the state debt servicing up to date, what is acknowledged also by international institutions,” Bostanjyan told a press conference in Yerevan.

He added that the increase of state debt is a justified step under the crisis conditions.

Chairman of the United Labor Party (ULP) Gurgen Arsenyan remarked, for his part, that the country’s state debt has doubled recently, what will definitely lead to problems with its servicing.

He said that, according to ULP calculations, each family’s debt makes $800 per year.
