Construction of Vanadzor-Fioletovo railroad to be launched in autumn 2011January 25, 2011 - 18:32 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Manuk Vardanyan said that construction of a new railroad - Vanadzor-Fioletovo - will be launched in Lori region of Armenia in 2011. The results of its feasibility study will be summarized in April-May, while the construction works will start in autumn, Vardanyan told a press conference in Yerevan on January 25. According to him, construction of a new 31.2km-long section of the railroad is among priorities of the Ministry and its cost is estimated to make $100mln. Vardanyan said that around $49mln will be allocated from the Anti-crisis Fund to South Caucasus Railways CJSC, while Russian investments will make the rest sum.
