Local producers to discuss industry development conceptMarch 1, 2011 - 13:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the Armenian Union of Local Manufacturers (AULM), head of the Public Council’s Committee on Financial, Economic and Budgetary Affairs Vazgen Safaryan said that the Armenian government should adopt a concept of industrial policy. The Armenian leadership should take action to reduce the number of unemployed, which currently makes 80,000 people, Safaryan told a press conference in Yerevan. According to him, members of AULM are expected to meet with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan soon to discuss basic principles of the future concept. Safaryan said that to his opinion this will mitigate the current difficult situation in Armenia. He also expressed hope that the authorities will take actions to develop local industry.
