Digitalization rate for Yerevan telecommunication stations is approaching 90%

PanARMENIAN.Net - "ArmenTel" plans to extend 3G network beyond Yerevan borders, ArmenTel Sales Director Genadiy Kalgashkin told a news conference, during 500 000th video-caller award event. Mr. Kalgashkin said that apart from 3G system launch, the company also plans to provide maximum Internet access throughout Armenia. "Today, the Internet is already available in 18 towns of Armenia, and population in the regions greatly interested in Internet services," he said.



According to ArmenTel Sales Director, digitalization of telecommunication stations facilitates Internet access throughout Armenia.



In her turn, Head of the Public Relations Department, Anoush Begloyan noted that the company's funds were mainly allocated to digitalization and 2.5G network introduction on the entire territory of Armenia has became a possibility. "The company attaches a special importance to 3G network and fast and mobile Internet services," she said, adding that digitalization costs comprised $200 million, spent within two years and digitalization rate in Yerevan phone stations is approaching 90%.
