PM says European market vital to Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia is interested in cooperation in the framework of CIS, also hoping the European market is open to it, Armenian Prime Minster said.

“Opening up of new economic areas is vital to Armenia. Our geopolitical conditions force us into expanding our economic space,” Tigran Sargsyan said in an interview with Kommersant newspaper.

He further stressed the need for Armenia to adopt certain standards that meet the European requirements.

“These are first of all standards related to food safety. However it will take about three years for them to be introduced and implemented. We will be able to enter a new large market then,” the PM said.
