2011 was successful for IT sector – EIF directorApril 11, 2012 - 14:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - 2011 was quite a successful year for IT sector, which has been in the focus of the government over the recent years, according to director of Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF). “The number of the companies has reached 359, whose total turnover ensured over USD 205 mln., providing an average annual growth of 23%,” Bagrat Yengibaryan told a press conference on April 11. He further favored the increase in the local companies’ share, which totals 62%, their products being exported not only to foreign markets, but also used in the local one fostering the country’s economic development. The average annual productivity growth of the sector totals 11,5%, with 11 000 employees working in the communications field. “IT specialists currently get AMD 400 thous. on average as one of the highest paid employees,” he added.
