Thousands to protest at Turkish embassy in Lebanon on Apr. 24![]() April 23, 2012 - 13:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On the 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, about 5000 people are expected to protest Tuesday, April 24, in front of the Turkish embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, against Ankara’s refusal to recognize the mass killings as Genocide. According to Daily Star, the commemoration will kick off with a Mass at the Armenian Orthodox Catholicosate in Antelias, north of Beirut, at 9:30 am. Following the Mass, which is expected to gather around 10000 people, a prayer will be said for the souls of those killed. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
