896 568 voters cast their ballot by 2pm

PanARMENIAN.Net - As of 2 pm, 896 568 people or 35.54%n of the total number of voters have already participated in the parliamentary elections in Armenia, Central Electoral Committee (CEC) reported.

According to CEC, 270 609 people voted in Yerevan, 47572 in Aragatsotn, 86160 in Ararat, 65 818 in Armavir, 71009 in Gegharkunik, 79 999 in Lori, 89 321 in Kotayk, 73 479 in Shirak, 53606 in Syunik, 18 468 in Vayots Dzor and 40527 in Tavush.

Parliamentary elections feature 8 political parties, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD), Orinats Yerkir, Heritage, Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA), Communist Party of Armenia and United Armenians party, as well as one election bloc represented by opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) running by proportional system .

138 candidates are nominated by majority system for the elections.

CEC will publish updates on the voting process once in three hours starting afternoon of the election day.

At 9pm information on voters by provinces (also provincial centers and large communities comprising over 10000 voters) and capital Yerevan will be published, with hourly update.

CEC will officially announce preliminary data on the proportional voting live by public TV and radio no later than 24 hours after the voting is over, i.e. within May 7 midnight and 8pm.

Final outcomes of the elections will be published on May 13.
