Recognition of poll results means progress in protocols – politician

PanARMENIAN.Net - New Times party leader noted Armenian-Turkish protocols and Nagorno Karabakh issue as the price for international recognition of parliamentary election outcomes.

In this context, Aram Karapetyan said that despite the harsh statements by the Armenian authorities, the protocols still remain on parliament’s agenda.

He further explained ARF Dashnaktutyun and Heritage parties’ poor results by negative attitude to Armenian-Turkish protocols.

“Armenia-Turkish reconciliation, opening of borders, ensuring of Turkish investment flow to Armenia, purchase of Armenian electricity by Turkey and opening of the Russian railways will become the price for the elections,” the party leader said.

Mr. Karapetyan said that the current foreign political situation is not in Armenia’s interest, given Turkey and Azerbaijan on the one hand, Iran with its problems and Russia’s undefined stance, on the other hand.
