As Levon Shirinyan told a press conference, RPA is likely to take the step due to the “need of support ahead of presidential elections.” Dwelling on Armenian National Congress (ANC) bloc’s 7% threshold level, the expert noted that the National Assembly was in “severe need” of ANC’s presence, given its representation of the whole opposition. “The number of MPs won’t be of great importance in case the Congress pursues sound policy,” Mr. Shirinyan said.
