Oskanian to renounce MP mandate in case of coalition – paper

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan has urged party member Vartan Oskanian to renounce his depute mandate in case of formation of coalition with the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.

However, Oskanian has expressed readiness to leave the party, choosing to retain MP mandate as a nonpartisan, according to the daily.

The paper claims that Prosperous Armenia head has made a similar offer to party member Hmayak Hovhannisyan, who also refused to quit depute mandate.

The party bloc standing for Prosperous Armenia’s joining the coalition is headed by Armenian Minister of Health Harutyun Kushkyan and Minister of Urban Development Vardan Vardanyan, the paper says.
