  Israel’s Genocide recognition may hamper similar process by Turkey June 11, 2012 - 16:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Israel may hamper Genocide recognition process by Turkey, director of Regional Studies Center (RSC) said. According to Richard Giragosian, Israeli authorities want to use Genocide recognition issue to “punish” Turkey. The expert noted that use of the Genocide issue by third countries for own interests may negatively affect its international recognition campaign, and in no way will foster Genocide recognition by Turkey itself. According to Haaretz, on the eve of the publication of the State Comptroller's report regarding the 2009 raid on an aid flotilla bound for the Gaza Strip, Israeli Knesset is expected to hold a public discussion about the Genocide of the Armenian people, at the request of MK Zahava Gal-On (Meretz). The Knesset will mark the anniversary of the Genocide with its first discussion of the matter on June 12, and a second public discussion will be planned, to be held by one of the Knesset committees.
