Aram I opens MECC Executive Committee meeting

PanARMENIAN.Net - His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, one of the Presidents of the Middle East Council of Churches opened the first meeting of the Executive Committee on June 12, reported the Communication and Information Department of Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia.

The Committee was elected in November 2011 during the 10th Assembly of the Council and consists of 30 members representing the four families of churches in the region.

The Armenian Catholicosate of Cilicia is one of the two Catholicosates of the Armenian Orthodox Church. Its jurisdiction extends over the Armenian Communities in the Middle East, Europe and North and South America. The Catholicosate, the administrative center of the church is located in Antelias, Lebanon.
