Paper: Gymri Mayor intensifies activities

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to Yerkir daily, Vardan Ghukasyan has intensified his activities on Gyumri Mayor post.

“Recently, he’s been ordering works on city illumination, asphalting, landscaping. Gyumri residents are displeased with the Mayor squandering away the budget, while using city improvement works as a cover. The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is no longer willing to support Ghukasyan, who’s been involved in criminal activities, and the Mayor realizes that,” the daily said.

According to the paper’s sources, MP Martun Grigoryan, backed by RPA, will get Gyumri Mayor’s post.

“By appointing Grigoryan a Mayor, RPA will kill 2 birds with 1 stone: 1st, the party gets rid of disgraced Ghukasyan; 2nd , RPA member Arman Sahakyan receives a deputy mandate instead of Grigoryan,” the paper said.
