  US TO PROVIDE ABOUT $84 MILLION TO ARMENIA IN 2005September 28, 2004 - 18:15 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Last weekend the US Senate approved $75 million in assistance to Armenia in FY 2005, which represents a$10 million increase from the aid approved by the House. The amount of the same assistance to Azerbaijan will make $38 million. The Senate also agreed on parity in military aid to Armenia and Azerbaijan amounting in $8.75 million for each country. Besides, Nagorno Karabakh will receive $2.5 million assistance.  Top stories Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot".
