Tbilisi-located St. Gevorg Armenian monastery to be restored

PanARMENIAN.Net - Restoration of Tbilisi-located St. Gevorg Armenian monastery will start in near future, the head of the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church said.

As Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan told a news conference, with restoration project ready, the financing is also on the way.

“The project for Surb Nshan monastery restoration has also been prepared,” the Bishop said.

According to the Bishop, there are about 40 acting and 300 nonfunctioning Armenian monasteries in Georgia.

In conclusion, the Bishop gladly reminded that Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church has been granted a legal status.
