PanARMENIAN.Net - Former commander of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) self-defense forces Samvel Babaian intends to leave for France "to restore health, which has been shaken within the period of imprisonment." Upon returning from France he is going to publish an article, which will analyze the situation in Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh), Aravot newspaper reported referring to its sources. It should be reminded that the former commander-in-chief had been dismissed and then sentenced to imprisonment on the indictment of organizing an attempt on the NKR President A. Ghukasian. Babaian was lately released.

Interestingly "Haykakan Zhamanak" newspaper published an interview with commander Zhirair Seflian (former commander of the Shushi battalion, now leader of the Initiative Group for Defense of the Liberated Territories). He was well-known in the period of the Artsakh war and until recently actively spoke in support of the release of S. Babaian. In the interview Zh. Seflian said that he is "sure that in the near future a new political force will appear, which will assume the responsibility of the solution of the Karabakh issue" and we will "witness a new national movement."
