U.S. envoy to Azerbaijan: Karabakh settlement will benefit both parties

PanARMENIAN.Net - Newly appointed U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar has voiced confidence for the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement to benefit both parties, 1news.az reported citing Voice of America.

During a meeting at United States - Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce (USACC) , the envoy briefed on energy security and areas of cooperation in the Caspian region.

“The U.S. pursues balanced policy in the region. America’s energy is more complex and multidirectional in the region,” he said, stressing Nabucco pipeline’s role for Azerbaijani energy diversification.

The U.S. Senate confirmed Richard Morningstar as ambassador to Azerbaijan on June 30.
