SMOKING RESTRICTION LAW COMING INTO FORCE IN ARMENIA TODAY

PanARMENIAN.Net - The law On Restriction on Sale, Consumption and Use of Tobacco Products comes into force in Armenia today. The law prohibits the sale of tobacco products to those under age of 18 as well as sale and use of tobacco products in all the cultural, educational, sports or public health institutions and in transport. Smoking in restaurants and cafes is allowed in special halls only. According to data provided by the World Health Organization Armenia occupies the first place by the number of smoking people among the CIS states. About 2000 people at the age of 35-69 die every year from illnesses caused by smoking in Armenia.
