EUROCOMMISSION TO APPOINT REPRESENTATIVE IN ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - The European Commission will soon appoint its representative in Armenia, first advisor of the Eurocommission delegation in Georgia and Armenia, Ambassador Jacques Vantomme. In his words, EC representative in Azerbaijan will also be appointed. «Eurocommission representatives in these South Caucasisn countries will be subordinated to the head of the regional office situated in Tbilisi,» Vantomme said. He also reported that the Eurocommission has worked out a program of actions for strengthening relations with Armenia. «The matter specifically concerns supporting formation of democratic institutions in the republic, fortifying Armenia's achievements in human rights and basic freedoms, freedom of speech, struggle with corruption,» he noted.
