Heritage leader may become serious presidential candidate – party rep.

PanARMENIAN.Net - Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannissian will become a serious opposition candidate for the presidential elections in February, party’s secretary general said.

“Heritage party’s candidate Raffi Hovannissian will specify his decision regarding the presidential race on October 1,” Stepan Safaryan said, noting Prosperous Armenia’s plan for the upcoming elections as another intrigue.

Dwelling on ARF Dashnaktsutyun’s participation in the elections, Mr. Safaryan voiced skepticism over ARFD head Vahan Hovhannisyan to run for president, given his failure in 2008.

He further expressed a hope for ARFD to endorse Raffi Hovannissian in the coming race.

“Armenian National Congress (ANC) leader Levon Ter-Petrossian is unlikely to file own candidacy, either,” Heritage secretary general said.
