iPhone 5 released in 22 more countries

PanARMENIAN.Net - One week after its U.S. debut, the iPhone 5 was released in 22 more countries Sept 28, PC Magazine reports.

The updated Apple smartphone is now on sale in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

In Ireland, the unlocked iPhone 5 is available for 679-899 euros, depending on capacity. The Apple website says there is currently a 3-4 week wait time there. It's a bit pricier in Italy, at 729-949 euros, and pricier still in Sweden (about 800 - 1,000 euros).

Apple released the iPhone 5 in the U.S., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the UK on Sept 21. Buyers lined up at Apple's flagship Fifth Ave. store in New York and around the world to get their hands on the iPhone 5, but many rushed the Web to pre-order the device, which quickly sold out.

In the U.S., the iPhone 5 also launched on several regional carriers, as well.

The updated smartphone boasts a bigger, 4-inch screen, 4G LTE connectivity, and a faster A6 processor. It also comes equipped with iOS 6, which has come under fire thanks to its lackluster Maps app - a feature that prompted an apology from Apple's Tim Cook earlier this morning.
