Silence of the Foreign Ministry: Turkmen President to visit Armenia?

PanARMENIAN.Net - Several media outlets, especially Azerbaijani ones, reported November 1 that President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow will discuss bilateral cooperation during his upcoming visit to Armenia.

PanARMENIAN.Net reporter addressed Armenian Foreign Ministry with a request to clarify the information.

“We will inform about high-ranking officials’ visits to Armenia in due time,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan said.

Thus, Azerbaijani media appear to be better informed of high-level officials’ upcoming visits to Yerevan, than Armenian ones.

On November 5 during a meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev conveyed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow’s readiness visit Yerevan, with the date not specified.
