RA AMBASSADOR TO RUSSIA: WE ARE NOT AFRAID TO LOSE OUR CULTURE

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Russian Diaspora is a comparably new notion, Armenian Ambassador to Russia Armen Smbatian stated in his online interview on OpenArmenia.com. In his words, there are numerous Diasporas that exist for more than a century in foreign states. "For Armenians Moscow was the capital city of our Homeland. Now, when we are a sovereign state there is a necessity to preserve our language, culture and traditions", he stressed. "For this purpose the Diaspora opens schools and various cultural centers for educating the children. As for the Armenian Diaspora in Russia, we do our best to provide our children with the essential literature and textbooks. This is one of the fundamental positions of the RA Embassy. We are not afraid to lose our culture. Centuries have proven we will not lose anything, since the family plays the dominant role in the formation of self-consciousness and self-preservation. At the same time conditions for the development of all the Diasporas are created in Russia", the Ambassador said.
