VirnetX claims 45 patents in the U.S. and abroad relating to real-time communications and other security technologies were allegedly violated by Apple’s FaceTime video chat application. VirnetX, which had previously settled a similar patent suit with Microsoft for $200 million, had initially sought upwards of $700 million in damages.
