Paper: Tsarukyan not planning to run for president

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to Zhoghovurd daily, Prosperous Armenia held another meeting on November 18, with no decision on the upcoming presidential elections taken.

“The party has split into two camps; first one backing the idea of party leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s running for president, another opposing it.

Tsarukyan’s candidacy will benefit both Armenia’s current president Serzh Sargsyan and his predecessor Robert Kocharian.

Sargsyan seeks a victory against a strong rival, while Kocharian hopes only Tsarukyan can defeat the current president. As for the Prosperous Armenia head, he has no intention to enter the race,” the paper says.
