PanARMENIAN.Net - The names of Armenian pilots who died in Congolese plane crash are announced, Foreign Ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan told PanARMENIAN.Net

Among those perished are Varazdat Balasanyan, crew commander, born 1949; Ara Tovmasyan; Andranik Gevorgyan; Edgar Avetyan, born 1989.

About 30 people, including the crew of 7; 5 of them Armenian citizens, were killed when Il76 Armenian cargo plane chartered by Aéro-Service Congolese airline skidded off the runway and crashed into houses and a bar in the Congolese capital.

The cargo plane has crashed at Brazzaville Airport, in Congo's capital, as it was trying to land in a storm, emergency services and witnesses say.

Locals were killed as the aircraft skidded off the runway and crashed into houses and a bar before crashing into a ravine.

An investigation is under way.
