Heritage leader slams thesis about non-competitive polls

PanARMENIAN.Net - Heritage party leader has slammed the thesis about non-competitive elections as false.

Dwelling on the forthcoming presidential polls in Armenia, Raffi Hovannissian stressed to need to join the struggle.

“Those having resolved to stay away from the race will be accomplice in the country’s stagnation,” he told a press conference.

“I’m not afraid of losing the elections. The forces having resolved against entering the race waged a struggle years ago, while their decision creates problems today,” the party leader said, adding that he shows respect for all of the presidential hopefuls, particularly Union for National Self-Determination party leader Paruyr Hayrikyan and former prime minister Hrant Bagratyan.
