Presidential hopeful Aram Harutyunyan to withdraw candidacy

PanARMENIAN.Net - National Conciliation Party leader has deemed further struggle for the president’s post unfounded.

“The upcoming elections can’t be legitimate, while those ready to continue the struggle legitimize the authorities,” Aram Harutyunyan told a press conference today, Jan 22.

He further briefed on his two programs, with the first one demanding that all of the presidential hopefuls should discontinue the struggle, leaving Serzh Sargsyan as the sole candidate.

“The second program urges incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan to withdraw candidacy and go into retirement,” he said, announcing a decision to leave the race on Feb 8 and go on hunger strike.
