Armenian President: Hayrikyan shooting aimed to hamper elections

PanARMENIAN.Net - It’s good to know that presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan is recovering, Armenia’s current leader Serzh Sargsyan said.

President Sargsyan described the assassination attempt on candidate Hayrikyan as a test, voicing hope for Armenians to overcome the challenge.

“The shooting aimed to affect the upcoming presidential vote. Despite the heinous crime, aimed against Armenia’s statehood and development, each of us must fulfill our obligations even better. We must continue our uninterrupted work as the crime aimed to hamper the natural course of the elections. However, we will not allow it. As a guarantor of the Constitution, I assure that all processes will be in line with Armenian Constitution,” President Sargsyan said.
