EVANS: REFERENDUM FAILURE TO IMPEDE DEMOCRATIC PROCESSES IN ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Ambassador to the RA John Evans stated that the adoption of the draft constitutional amendments via referendum will provide bright prospects for the republic. According to him, failure of the referendum can seriously impede democratic processes in Armenia. As he noted, falsification of the referendum outcomes is inadmissible since it can force people to the streets to take political decisions there. "We are expecting a free referendum," Mr. Evans said. To note, the Organic Law of Armenia was adopted by the parliament in the second reading. The third reading is scheduled for late September. In November it will be put to referendum, which will be watched by numerous international observers, reported IA Regnum.
