Armenian National Movement joins ANC party formation initiative

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Movement (ANM) party has passed a resolution to join the initiative of formation of Armenian National Congress (ANC) party.

ANM will be renamed into ANC, with Armenian National Movement to be replaced by Armenian National Congress party.

Earlier, the leader of Armenian National Congress opposition bloc, first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrossian hinted at formation of a new party.

As he noted, the ideology of Social Liberalism will become a foundation for the new party, which will aim at achieving a balance between liberal economy system and satisfying social needs of people with limited state control.

“I’ll spare no effort to form a party and turn it into the most influential political force in the country. I’ll be honored to be given a chance to lead it, even if symbolically; I’ll be responsibly performing my duties,” Ter-Petrossian said.
