Renowned Armenian artist Hagop Hagopian dies at 89March 9, 2013 - 12:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Renowned Armenian artist Hagop Hagopian died Friday, March 8 at the age of 89. Chairman of the Armenian Artists’ Union Karen Aghamyan confirmed the death, saying that Hagopian died of a heart attack at a hospital. Hagopian was born in Egypt, attended the Institute of Fine Arts in Cairo and then was granted scholarship to attend Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris. He also studied at the studio of renowned painter Andre L’hote during his stay in Paris. Later, with his family, he moved and settled in Armenia.
