Meeting of 12 IMF Members Group to be Held in Yerevan in 2006
Yesterady RA Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan met with International Monetary Fund Executive Director Jeroen Kremers and IMF Permanent Representative in Armenia James McHugh. Expressing satisfaction with the IMF-Armenia cooperation and the implementation of joint programs the parties rated the economic growth in Armenia as impressive. Mr. Kremers pointed out that the program targeted at the poverty reduction strategy being implemented by the IMF jointly with Armenia is rather smooth. He expressed a hope for further successful cooperation. The RA Premier informed the guest of Armenia's further economic development and of the programs of resolving social and economic problems, particularly for the encouragement of small and medium business and creation of favorable conditions for investors. The sides pointed out a number of opportunities for the development of cooperation. Margaryan expressed the confidence that Kremers' visit to Armenia will promote the IMF-Armenia cooperation. Kremers expressed gratitude to the Armenian side for its willingness to hold a meeting of 12 group members in Yerevan in June 2006. He expressed the confidence that the nest study of the Armenia-IMF cooperation program will be successful as well.
