Schreiner: "I would like your nation to vote for constitutional amendments"

PanARMENIAN.Net - During an international conference dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Armenian parliament PACE vice-president Bernard Schreiner dismissed opposition charges that strong Western support for constitutional changes constitutes an interference in Armenia's internal affairs. We the French too often take foreigners' advice. Statements in support of the Armenian constitutional reform] must be seen as not propaganda but advice," he said. The PACE vice-president also voiced opinion that in the near future Armenia will succeed in restoring the lost democratic foundation. "I would like your nation to vote for the constitutional amendments. I saw Artur Baghdassaryan and Tirgran Torossian's will to hold free and fair referendum," Mr. Schreiner resumed, RFE/RL reported.
