Emmett/Furla to finance Bruce Willis action thriller “Expiration”May 16, 2013 - 18:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Independent film production and financing firm Emmett/Furla Films has struck a deal to fully finance and produce Bruce Willis action thriller Expiration, The Hollywood Reporter said. The film, based on a script from Brian Tucker (Broken City), has a $60 million budget and stars Willis as a hitman "who is poisoned and has to find a cure before he expires," according to a description of the film. The deal was announced in Cannes by Randall Emmett and George Furla, co-founders of Emmett/Furla Films. In addition to the firm, Tucker is also producing, with Steven Eads executive producing. Emmett/Furla is in negotiations to lock in a director for the film and plans to present it to buyers in June. Production is set to start in March 2014. Emmett/Furla previously unveiled a couple of other high-profile films, including Martin Scorsese’s Silence, which is being shopped at Cannes, Everest, a project with Working Title and Universal Pictures, as well as Vin Diesel’s Witch Hunter, which Summit/Lionsgate are distributing. Emmett/Furla will also premiere action thriller 2 Guns, distributed by Universal Pictures and starring Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington, in August. Later that month, its Frozen Ground with Nicholas Cage and Vanessa Hudgens, will be released by Lionsgate. Lone Survivor, starring Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Emilie Hirsch, Ben Forster and Eric Bana opens in January via Universal Pictures.
