Angelina Jolie to play her mother in biopic?

PanARMENIAN.Net - Angelina Jolie is to play her own mother Marcheline Bertrand in a biopic about the late actress, The Huffington Post said.

Marcheline, who died from ovarian cancer in 2007 aged just 56, like her daughter devoted herself to humanitarian causes, including helping women Afghan refugees and launching the Give Love Give Life organisation to help fight gynaecological cancers.

Angelina's partner Brad Pitt will produce the film through his company Plan B, according to The Daily Mail.

Marcheline was raised in Illinois by a French-Canadian father. She married actor Jon Voight when she was just 21 and she quit her acting career to look after their children, son James and Angelina.

She and Jon split in 1976, allegedly as a result of his infidelity. She was a liberal parent, allowing wild teen Angelina to bring a boyfriend to live in their home when she was just 14. Marcheline was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1999, the same year Angelina had her Oscar-winning role in Girl, Interrupted.

Angelina last week revealed in the New York Times she had undergone a voluntary double mastectomy after discovering she had inherited the faulty BRCA1 gene, which causes cancer.

Paying tribute to Marcheline she wrote: "My mother fought cancer and died at 56."She held out long enough to meet the first of her grandchildren and to hold them in her arms. But my other children will never have the chance to know her and experience how loving and gracious she was."
