Mozilla working on Firefox OS tablet - reportMay 29, 2013 - 19:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Mozilla is reportedly working on a tablet running its Firefox OS. The company has teamed up with Foxconn - the company that manufactures the iPad - to produce a device aimed at the budget end of the market, Digital Spy reported citing CNET. The rumoured tablet, expected to be launched at a June 3 event, will run the Firefox mobile software originally developed by Mozilla for budget smartphones. Earlier this year, it unveiled the Keon and Peak handsets aimed at developers to encourage third party apps. Foxconn, the trading name of Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry, is the 19th company to use the operating system following the likes of Alcatel and Huawei. Mozilla says the Firefox OS differs from rival systems as it "makes the mobile web more accessible to more people".
