Kevin Turner, the firm's chief operating officer, teased the news at its Worldwide Partner Conference this week. A slide shown at the event listed "Update to Surface RT" and "Update to Surface Pro" among the company's plans, The Verge reports. It has been rumoured that Microsoft will install Intel's recently released Haswell processors into the Surface Pro. The Surface RT, meanwhile, is likely to get a Qualcomm processor later this year, with reports suggesting the company has been testing Windows RT 8.1 Surface devices with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 processor. The chip includes integrated LTE connectivity, allowing Microsoft to potentially integrate mobile broadband support into a new Surface tablet. The slide also mentioned that the tablets will get "new accessory colours" and "new accessories". The release of the Xbox One, Windows 8.1 and new Windows 8.1 devices were also listed as major landmarks for Microsoft in the current financial year.
